

CPCCLSF2001 Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform basic scaffolding work.
Scaffolding work involves erecting, altering or dismantling a temporary structure to support a platform from which a person or object could fall more than four metres.
This unit applies to scaffolding work involving:
- modular or pre-fabricated scaffolds
- cantilevered materials hoists with a maximum working load of 500 kg
- ropes
- gin wheels
- safety nets and static lines
- bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork).
Scaffolding work is undertaken in construction and other industries where temporary structures are erected, altered and dismantled.
Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying carry out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.
Competence in this unit does not in itself result in a licence. A licence is obtained after competence is assessed under applicable Commonwealth, state or territory work health and safety (WHS) regulations.
The course outlines the following:

- Set up task
- Undertake basic scaffold activities
- Complete task
Course duration 5 days
$1500 AUD with a deposit of $1,000 is required within 7 days of enrolment, with the balance to be paid upon commencement.
N.B. You may be eligible for Government Subsidies, so check with the team to find out if you qualify..
Anyone assessed as ‘not yet competent’ can be reassessed on the relevant section after 48 hours from the original assessment date, and before 90 days have elapsed. Note: There may be an additional cost. (After 90 days a full reassessment will be needed)
Note: Licence to erect,alter & dismantle scaffolding basic level is valid for 5 years.
- Prior to enrolling in this course you will need to obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI) please visit www.usi.gov.au and ensure you have at least one form of identification

- You will be required to conduct mathematical calculations throughout this course
- All students must pass a language, literacy & numeracy assessment (LLN)
- Identification must be the originals and not laminated, also add a link to Safework NSW EOI: SW08446-0718-423971.pdf
- PPE is required including safety boots and a hi-vis shirt
- Tea and Coffee is provided (if conducted at our facilities), local shops are nearby
- Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the commencement of training
- Face to face training or at your work site (for groups)
Upon successful completion participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level CPCCLSF2001 from AOTA and an application for a SafeWork NSW High Risk Work Licence.
You will need to go to a participating Australia Post in person to apply. You need to do this within 60 days of receiving your Notice of Satisfactory Assessment from your SafeWork NSW assessor.
You will need to take:
- your Notice of Satisfactory Assessment form
- a completed Application for a National Licence to Perform High Risk Work – New Application form (N5 form provided by your SafeWork NSW assessor). Do not sign this form, you need to sign it at Australia Post
- passport-quality photograph
- proof of identity. See evidence of identity information sheet (PDF, 109.92 KB)
- any current high risk work licences
- payment method (view the cost in the fee schedule).

CPCCLSF3001 Licence to Erect, Alter and Dismantle Scaffolding Intermediate Level
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform intermediate scaffolding work.
Scaffolding work involves erecting, altering or dismantling a temporary structure to support a platform from which a person or object could fall more than four metres.
This unit applies to scaffolding work involving:
- cantilevered crane loading platforms
- cantilevered scaffolds
- spur scaffolds
- barrow ramps and sloping platforms
- scaffolding associated with perimeter safety screens and shutters
- mast climbing work platforms
- tube and coupler scaffolds (including tube and coupler covered ways and gantries).
Scaffolding work is undertaken in construction and other industries where temporary structures are erected, altered and dismantled.
Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform advanced scaffolding work.
Scaffolding work involves erecting, altering or dismantling a temporary structure to support a platform from which a person or object could fall more than four metres.
This unit applies to scaffolding work involving:
- cantilevered hoists
- hung scaffolds, including scaffolds hung from tubes, wire ropes or chains
- suspended scaffolds.
Scaffolding work is undertaken in construction and other industries where temporary structures are erected, altered and dismantled.
Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.
