Your Rights & Obligations

MR vehicles include:

trucks and buses with a GVM more than 8 tonnes and 2 axles
any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM.

To apply for an MR licence, you must have:

have held a class C licence (except a learner licence) or equivalent for 1 year or more
To apply you need: a learner logbook from Service NSW after the successful completion of the Driver Knowledge Test
passed the Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test
passed an eyesight test
successfully complete the HVCBA or passed a heavy vehicle driving test.

Auto/Synchromesh – $950
Available Mon-Fri (1 day – 7.00am to 3.00pm)

Minimum requirements:

Applicants must be at least 19 years of age.
Applicants must have held an Australian car licence for at least 12 months. This does not include a learner driver licence.
To apply you need: a learner logbook from Service NSW after the successful completion of the Driver Knowledge Test

For all classes of licence training undertaken with All Onsite Training & Assessment, you will be required to follow the steps, outlined below, to obtain your heavy vehicle licences:

Study for the class of licence you wish to obtain.
Pass the knowledge test at Transport NSW.
For your LR, MR, HR and HC licence you should obtain the competency based assessment books from Transport NSW.

Once you have been deemed competent, return to Transport NSW to have your photo licence processed.
